We have regularly visited The Skyrred Arms in the Black Mountains near to Carmarthen. As the oldest pub in Wales it is steeped with history and some stories are a little scary too!
Nick recommends "The Trengilly Inn between Helston and Falmouth. The terrace outside is vine-covered and on a summer's day is close to paradise".
A fond favourite of Simon's is the Helford, near Helston. A nautically-themed pub set in an amazing spot on the banks of the Helford Estuary. This is really popular with yatchsmen with a discerning taste for local ales.
Robin often visits The Golden Lion or The Shipwright. "These are two excellent pubs in the beautiful Cornish fishing village of Port Isaac. You have to park your car at the top of the hill and walk down into the village. It is well worth the walk! This is where the filmed Doc Martin too!"
Jo loves the Duke of York in Iddesleigh in Devon. "It is close to part of the Tarka Trail but generally hidden from the public domain. It serves great food either in it's bar which is full of local people or in it's restaurant which is a little pricey and very rustic local real ales which change regularly. An excellent english pub which has won many awards".
